6. Ori & The Blind Forest
If you're an Xbox, PC or Switch owner, you absolutely owe it to yourself to play Ori & The Blind Forest.
A truly stunning platformer/metroidvania which pops with detail in all of its lush environments, Ori tells the story of a mysterious creature of the same name. To tell you any more would spoil the story of this title; but be warned, despite Ori being so gosh-damn-cute you just want to smush his little face, this one is absolutely a tear jerker and will have you blubbering probably within the first few minutes.
That's just part one of the way Ori hates you as well; it also simultaneously makes you suffer with how difficult it can be. Although it eases you in relatively gently, before you know it you'll be gaining new powers which let you bounce all over the place, challenging you to make increasingly difficult jumps, all the while fending off the dangerous enemies around you.
So, in short, Ori is a title that's absolutely beautiful with a cute as buttons main character that both makes you cry out of sadness and also frustration. Brilliant.
