10 Magic: The Gathering Cards Too Powerful For Their Own Good
8. Ancestral Recall
Ancestral Recall has been around since 1993 and was part of the first Magic set ever released (Alpha). To say this spell has aged well would be a massive understatement. The card, which features an image of what looks to be a bearded man with a migraine, is widely considered one of the best blue cards in the game.
In Magic, being able to constantly draw cards greatly increase your chance of victory. A card like Ancestral Recall, which allows a player to draw three cards for just one blue mana, without any sort of penalty, is practically unheard of.
Moreover, if you're trying to mill your opponent (force them to lose the game by drawing all their cards), Ancestral Recall can also come in handy.
In terms of getting bang for your mana buck, it doesn't get much better than this iconic instant spell.
