10 Marvel Heroes For The New Mystery Game
5. Shang-Chi
Before the release of the exceptional Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, most people didn't even know who he was. But now? Now he's on track to become a new MCU favorite. He's got a kickass skillset, a cool villain (in the movie, at least), and a compelling backstory. Why not translate that to a game?
Of course, any Shang-Chi game would probably take more pointers from the movie than the comics. Originally, his dad was an overtly racist caricature named Fu Manchu, who - setting aside the glaring fact that the character is extraordinarily problematic - Marvel doesn't even own the rights to anymore. They'd have to either go with Wenwu, or his revised comic book daddy, Zheng Zu. Either way, it's a damn sight better than Fu Manchu.
Ten Rings or not, Shang-Chi is a master of martial arts. No, he is the master of martial arts. The gameplay possibilities there are already promising. Plot-wise, not only is his story intertwined with kung-fu, but there's also a heavy espionage element, with him frequently joining up with MI6. So what we're looking at is a globe-trotting kung-fu/espionage adventure, and that's... kind of incredible.
