10 MASSIVE Missed Opportunities In Video Game Stories
6. Dagobah Is Just A Cutscene?! - Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2
There’s no doubt that Star Wars The Force Unleashed 2 had its fair share of problems. The story for the game focuses on the return of Starkiller, who is plagued by the question of is he a clone, or not.
However, the game has an incredibly short runtime of about 5 to 7 hours, which is not nearly enough to go as in-depth as this story deserved. Taking all that into account, the biggest problem with the game is the mission to Dagobah, where Starkiller has a quick meeting with Master Yoda before venturing into the cave of evil.
Here, Starkiller sees a vision of multiple clones of himself reaching out and begging for his help, before he sees another vision of his love interest, Juno, being attacked and taken prisoner by the Empire.
Despite how cool this particular moment sounds, the fact that it all happens in one short cutscene takes away from the impact this moment could have had.
Had the cave of evil been a fully fleshed out mission with players in the driver’s seat, this moment could have been the turning point in not only the game’s story, but the players investment in it as well.
