10 Media Franchises That Need The LEGO Treatment
3. Toy Story
With the release of 2019’s Toy Story 4 wrapping up the main
franchise, now seems like the best time to bring Woody, Buzz and the gang into
LEGO form. Woody already appeared in 2018’s LEGO The Incredibles as a Pixar
legacy character, and this partnership between LEGO, Disney and Pixar shows
that the game is certainly in the realms of possibility.
The Toy Story franchise has no shortage of unique characters and settings for LEGO to adapt throughout the different films, as well as major set pieces to turn into levels. Some examples of set pieces that could be adapted are the birthday party, Sid’s house and moving van from Toy Story, Al’s Toy Barn, Al’s apartment building and the airport from Toy Story 2, Sunnyside Daycare from Toy Story 3 and the antique store and fairground from Toy Story 4.
As well as levels, Woody, Buzz and the gang would be able to
provide the basis for characters in the game, with supporting slots being
filled out by some of Andy’s minor toys like Rocky Gibraltar and RC, Sid’s
mutant toys, the toys from Al’s Toy Barn, the minor toy’s from Sunnyside Daycare
and Bonnie’s minor toys. This selection could provide the game with upwards of
100 unique characters, which has become a standard amount for modern LEGO
games.
