10 Media Franchises That Need The LEGO Treatment
4. Avatar: The Last Airbender/The Legend of Korra
Avatar: The Last Airbender, and its sequel series The Legend
of Korra, remains one of the most popular western animated television shows
ever released. While the Last Airbender, released from 2005 to 2008, is easily
the more popular of the two shows, The Legend of Korra, release from 2012 to
2014, still has its fans. Despite nothing new related to the franchise being
released on screen since the end of The Legend of Korra in 2014, rumours of a
live action Netflix adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender have persisted in
recent years, with a projected release date of 2021.
The franchise has a host of fans, including both people who grew up with the show in the 2000’s and younger fans who have been introduced to the show since its release. The adventures of Aang, Katara, Sokka, Toph and Zuko lend themselves to the same humour that LEGO already portrays in their games, and the plot provides of host of content that could easily be adapted into LEGO’s level based format.
The inclusion of The Legend of Korra could provide additional
characters and levels, either as part of the main game or as DLC - something
LEGO has been using to provide additional levels and characters to their recent
games.
