10 Mind-Blowing Facts You Never Knew About The Last Of Us

10. Neil Druckmann Originally Wanted To Write Comics

Neil Druckmann was a huge comic fan growing up, something he picked up from his older brother, and he often wrote and drew his own comics as a child. As he got older, Druckmann's love of comics fuelled his ambition to write and he even considered penning a novel at one time, but wasn't quite sure how to go about it just yet. Deciding that a career in comics seemed the way to go, Druckmann started devouring the work of Brian Michael Bendis, and it was through reading a script that Bendis had done for his Powers series that Druckmann first came across Robert McKee's Story - a book on the craft of screenwriting, which Bendis cited as an influence. The discovery of Story marked a major turning point for Druckmann, giving him insight into the process of screenwriting and helping him hone the skills he would later put to good use on The Last Of Us.
