3. Missing The Tutorial - Elden Ring

Because Elden Ring was headlined by Souls creator, Hidetaka Miyazaki, gamers knew it was going to be tough as nails. But despite this expectation, gamers were blindsided by the difficulty of...well... everything. Even though Dark Souls is rock-hard, it gave you a chance to get acquainted with the mechanics before hurling you into the deep end. Elden Ring, on the other hand, is so difficult from the get-go, it feels like the game should've had a tutorial mode.

Oh, wait. It does. While in the opening cavern, Fringefolk Hero's Grave, there is a staircase which leads to the main campaign. To the right of the stairs, there's a pit, which takes you to the tutorial section, The Cave of Knowledge. But because the pit doesn't stand out and the Hero's Grave is pretty darn big, most players don't notice it. (The fact that gamers have conditioned from birth to see pits as an instant death trap also doesn't help.)

This is a shame since the tutorial helps the player get accustomed with simple but crucial mechanics including melee attacks and magical attacks. If players had an inkling on how cruelly difficult Elden Ring is going to be, they would jump into The Cave of Knowledge without a second thought.
