10 Mistakes Nintendo Got Away With (Because They're Nintendo)

Before there was the Oculus Rift, there was the Virtual Boy. And let's just say there should have just been Oculus Rift.

Nintendo certainly bit off more than they could chew here. Promising players a three dimensional virtual reality gaming experience all the way back in 1995, if your reality was one of monochrome red, then this certainly is the VR experience for you!

While the lack of a color palette already made it a hard sell, it could have been seen as an underrated gem had it not literally made players ill. Not to mention the very few games it had in its library, one of which was "Tetris 3D", and seeing how many people have that on their consoles and smartphones, you can tell how much that caught on. Any fun the players had was negated by their sore eyes, headaches, nausea, and stiff necks.

In fairness to Nintendo however, they have publicly acknowledged, and even poked fun at this misstep, even including it as a cheeky easter egg in Luigi's Mansion 3, and if you can't laugh at yourself, then who can you laugh at?
