10 MORE Cult Classic Video Games That Deserve A Remake
6. Brütal Legend
New IPs can be a rarity in the video game industry as most releases often consist of sequels or remasters. In 2009, Brütal Legend was a new video game property, one that stood out from the crowd with its presentation and love for the heavy metal genre.
It had everything a metalhead wants from a killer soundtrack, references for hardcore fans, and even Jack Black as the protagonist. What made the game unique as well was its dueling gameplay styles which consisted of third-person action and real-time strategy.
For the former, the player was thrust into environments where they could slash their way with the broad axe named The Separator. For the latter, on the other hand, Stage Battles involved RTS missions where you had to protect your stage while at the same time attacking the enemy's.
Brütal Legend received positive reviews from critics though players found the blend of two genres a bit bewildering. But with the game gaining a cult following, a Brütal Legend remake would rectify the problems it had upon release. Expand the combat and implement more features from the RTS segments, and fans will be treated with a more even experience.
