The enigmatic Big Boss character has been involved in all manner of misadventures over the years, but a battle royale? Why the heck not?! Bringing the hero from The Phantom Pain to Fortnite as a Thanos-like unlockable would add a stealthy, cunning element to the more boisterous approach that the game's been built around thus far.

With sound playing such a key role in surviving in the game, the ability to stifle or even subvert this would be a seriously interesting offering. Boss could simulate noise with the mechanical arm (as in MGS: V) and entice enemies close to him, or hush his own footsteps and attacks with his stealth suit and enhanced weapon silencers.

There'd be little need to make this crossover into "just another damage booster", and a stealthy element would encourage players to try new things. Variety is the spice of life, we're told, but it's also a good way for developers to keep their games relevant as they start to age. How long can the same formula really keep us coming back for more?
