1. Tartarus - Halo 2
Bungie clearly anticipated that players might attempt to cheese Halo 2's final boss, Tartarus, and so gave said boss a little helping hand to ensure that just wasn't possible.
Shortly after the game's release, players discovered that it was possible to squeeze a Banshee into the final chamber where you battle Tartarus. And for those unaware, a Banshee is an armed Covenant aircraft.
From here, players surely surmised that they could skip the final boss fight altogether by just... ramming their Banshee into Tartarus and smacking him off the edge of the level's central column.
Though you can technically do this, Bungie evidently saw your mischief coming - or just forgot to give Tartarus falling damage - as if you try to kill Tartatus this way, he'll simply respawn in the nearby gravity lift to continue the fight.
There's no obvious canonical reason why Tartarus can suddenly re-materialise like that, but it sure is an unexpected example of developers predicting the most unhinged player behaviour.
