2. Lindsay Lohan Vs. Rockstar

The case: Fresh off the (long) line of incomprehensible accusations aimed at games developers, Rockstar once again found itself on the receiving end of controversy when Lindsay Lohan accused the studio of using her likeness without permission in Grand Theft Auto V. Now, we've all seen the comparison image in question (look up if you haven't) and while superficial similarities exist, that's all they are.

Even if Rockstar's intention was to satirise Lohan with the character, GTA V is wholly a work of fiction, rendering the debate entirely moot.

The outcome: As if there was any doubt, the New York County supreme court dismissed the case despite Lohan's claim that the depiction used her "signature 'peace sign' pose" and other 'trademarks". Boy, how could such a strong defence be shut down without a second thought?

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, Ms. Lohan, but that hand gesture has been around since before you were even able to manipulate your fingers in such a fashion.

One day, Rockstar. One day you'll be able to make a game that doesn't result in a legal battle. Hang in there.
