10 Most Anticipated 2013 Video Games That Are Still To Come

1. Watch DogsWatchDogs_Banner Okay seriously, have a look this and tell me you're not interested. That's right, you can't because it's simply impossible! How do you take a game like GTA and take it to the next level. Why, by giving the protagonist the ability to hack into everything of course! Watch Dogs has earned its place in the number one spot quite simply because it represents a game that is quite unlike any other. The plot has you playing as Aiden Pearce, a skilled hacker, who can infiltrate CtOS (Central Operating System) and basically control anything with so much as an triple A battery in it. The concept of the game is playing to the tune of information warfare, where the questioning of who controls the technology you depend on, rises up. Set in an alternate reality of Chicago, Aiden Pearce plays the anti-hero, who after the construction of one of the many supercomputers and CtOS, uses it to his advantage by hacking into technologies linked to it and turning the city against itself, as a form of revenge. The motive behind this is unclear though. The E3 demo depicted Aiden attempting to kill Joseph DeMarco, a media mogul who was wrongly acquitted for murder. So the objectives of the game include...um..killing people? Who knows, and honestly, who cares?! The game seems so mind-blowingly fun it seems heinous to even consider how good the plot will be. I have a sneaky feeling though, that Ubisoft is not revealing all the plot details for our own good, and as usual, it will blow our minds. Watch Dogs Aside from just the concept, the gameplay mechanics is engaging too. You can hack into personal bank accounts, remotely manipulate traffic lights or look into how violent your target is, just to name a few features. The possibilities seem endless and switching between these 'weapons' for both surveillance and fighting seems seamless. Another interesting feature is the importance of how high-profile your activities are. This is somewhat similar to the Hitman franchise, with a point system affecting your reputation. This reputation in turn has a large effect on the overall outcome of the game. If you choose to be silent and kill targets in a quiet manner instead of a shootout, the Chicago Police Department will not pay as much attention to you or your activities, as they otherwise would. The game is also said to feature a parkour style freerun system, realistic gun fighting and cover system and of course, next-gen graphics. That's one point to note though: if there was any game on this list that must be bought for next-gen consoles, I'd say it would be this one. It just seems made to be for the PS4 and X1. What better way to bring in the new generation of consoles? While a lot is still unclear about the game, the one thing that is evident, is that it is something unique. It's special blend of the GTA franchise mixed with its own tech-twist, makes for the perfect recipe for an all-round fantastic game. It is slated for a November 19th 2013-November 22nd 2013 release, depending on your region. It will be released for PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U and PCs. Additionally, it will be made available for the PlayStation 4 at launch, and for the X1, depending on their respective release dates.
