8. Halo Infinite

The Last Of Us 2 Ellie
343 Productions

Release Date: Winter

While the recent Halo entries have mostly failed to capture the magic of those early games in the series, it's always going to be an exciting time when a new one is on the horizon, even if the franchise has never felt "right" since 343 took over with Halo 4.

On the plus side though, Halo Infinite should be business as usual on several fronts, with the shooting expected to be as satisfying as ever, the graphics looking stunning (this will be the first Halo game on the next-gen Xbox Series X), and another addictive multiplayer suite to sink countless hours into - plus, split-screen is back!

All of that stuff should be great, so the only potential sticking point, really, is the game's story. Halo 5 received a ton of criticism for its underwhelming single-player campaign, but from the limited amount of details we have about Infinite so far, 343 seems focused on improving that particular area of the game, with the studio stating that they've learned from Halo 5 criticisms and will be building a more Chief-oriented tale this time around.

We don't really know much about Infinite at this point so time will tell how it plays and what exactly its story will be about, but with the power of next-gen under its belt, there's no reason this can't be the best Halo game we've had in quite some time.

He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
