8. Nintendo Gamecube
The first of many Nintendo consoles on this list, the Gamecube offered something different to the other systems floating around the market at the time of release, including the likes of the PS2 and original Xbox. Nintendo have always found comfort in being unashamedly more cartoon-like than their rivals, but it's never something that's felt especially forced. Shockingly, this writer never owned many Nintendo systems until later on, but it'd be incredibly banal to deny the impact the company have had on the videogame industry. 'Fun' is at the very core of Nintendo, and the Gamecube embodied that philosophy. These consoles go for fairly cheap nowadays, and if you've never checked one out, join the millions who have subsequently loved what the Gamecube has to offer. Ever-under-rated, but has slowly gained respect amongst the gaming fraternity, becoming one of the most-loved consoles in history. It's just a shame it didn't receive more love upon release.
Best games: The Legend Of Zelda - The Wind Waker/Twilight Princess, Super Mario Sunshine, Super Monkey Ball, Luigi's Mansion.
