3. Handsome Jack (Borderlands 2)
Bad guys don’t always have to be dull, and Handsome Jack is certainly not dull. The world of Borderlands 2 is full of surprises and absolutely bonkers NPC's to talk to and shoot, sometimes specifically in the face. It would then seem almost impossible to create a very real threat in this bizarre place. Handsome Jack is this threat but in the most satisfying way possible.
Any good villain is the hero of their story. Handsome Jack's motives throughout Borderlands 2 are completely on-brand for the narcissist, however, he is still somehow incredibly likeable. This is, much like GLaDOS, thanks to brilliant writing and a starring performance from Dameon Clark.
Handsome Jack lights up the screen every time he appears, whether physically or over the radio. We can't help but love him for his eccentricity but make no mistake, he is one of the most ruthless and maniacal villains this decade has ever seen.
