6. Playing A Split-Screen Match In Goldeneye 64
The N64 pretty much started the golden age of split-screen gaming. Sure, the PS1 came out shortly before, but Nintendo's 64-bit beauty, with its four controller ports, was designed with four people in mind, and no game took advantage of that better than GoldenEye. Sure, split-screen was already kind of a thing by that point, but that a game with Goldeneye's incredible graphics could pull it off was nothing short of magic. You knew as soon as you landed in one of the games clinical deathmatch arenas that you weren't just going to be in it for a few minutes, but hours on end, to the point that when you came away from the game, that James Bond jingle you hear upon dying would still be ringing in your ears. Playing the four-player deathmatch today, you won't believe how you managed to tolerate the seemingly 15fps frame-rates, but those were far more carefree times, and frame-rates simply didn't matter as much because "WOW, 3D graphics!"
