8. Galen’s Escape - World Of Warcraft

World of Warcraft is positively notorious for its crappy escort missions, possibly none worse than Galen who seems dead set on making sure you both don’t make it out of there alive.

In the Galen’s Escape quest you find Galen in the Swamp of Sorrows, free him from a cage, and then he proceeds to try to get himself killed in various ways. Some players actually recommend emptying out the Swamp of foes before you let this timebomb out. He moves fast, pulls a tonne of enemies to you, and sometimes runs off and agros more enemies just in case you weren’t having a crap enough time.

He also has like no armour, isn’t healable, and, when given the choice, he’ll tromp right through an enemy camp instead of literally any other option. Fun.
