10 Most BROKEN Video Game Launches Of The Generation
6. Ghost Recon: Breakpoint
Ubisoft's most recent offering on this list, which you'd think they'd have learnt from previous shambles by now. After all, Wildlands was a bit of a damp squib and didn't reignite the series after the fantastic but under-performing Future Soldier.
Not only was it massively riddled with bugs and game-breaking glitches, it also had something more sinister and broken up its sleeves. That's right, insidious microtransactions that could let players, if inclined, pay their way to victory.
Fans could, if you felt so inclined, purchase "Time Savers" and completely bypass the need to, oh I don't know, play the game to its fullest and progress naturally. These were removed, but for the most part, its critical mauling was deserved.
Thankfully the backlash caused Ubisoft to rethink their business strategy, what with losing millions on this under-performer. Defenders will call it a painful lesson, whereas anyone else will see the harsh lesson in why microtransactions and "pay to win" are a blight on this industry.
And stop shoehorning Sam Fisher into games to play on our nostalgia.
