Don't be lured into accepting the false sense of security that Shrine of Amana's calm atmosphere and blue-hued beauty seemingly want you to believe, this place is a death trap just waiting to claim its next victim - not that you'd know it.

See, the cobbled pathways that cut through Amana's (mostly) shallow body of water are lifelines you need to follow in order to reach the trail's end, but sticking to the beaten path is all but straightforward. A cult of Archdragon Priests has taken up residence in the drowned shrine, of which a particular variety can snipe your poor Bearer of the Curse from a mile away with nothing but a collection of crumbling pillars present to offer shelter.

Devoting a bunch of souls into levelling Agility can help a treat in dodging projectiles like an expert acrobat, but just one misstep and you'll be sinking to inescapable depths below the water's surface.

So bad was the original incarnation of the area, that From Software was eventually forced to neuter its difficulty. Seems they don't want us to die that much.
