10 Most Disappointing Video Games Of 2022

2. Gotham Knights

Gotham Knights
Warner Bros.

Of all the games on this list, Gotham Knights is one that you can still have a lot of fun with. The superhero open-world adventure has a lot to admire, with strong character writing, decent combat and four different heroes to play as.

Unfortunately, Gotham Knights is disappointing because for everything it gets right, there's a misstep to balance things out. Tragically unbalanced and boring boss battles, a lifeless open world, repetitive side missions and more plagued the title, which generally felt like it released six months too soon, despite already being delayed for a whole year.

And then there's the technical issues. Despite cutting ties with last-gen machines, Gotham Knights rarely hit a smooth 30fps on consoles, and with graphics that were hardly setting the bar on the new machines, it was unclear what exactly was so "next-gen" about the game.

Some people love it, and you can see why when isolating certain features. Others, however, simply couldn't get past the title's many flaws, and you can't blame them.
