10 Most Epic Deaths In Video Game History

6. Gray Fox (MGS)

One of the coolest characters in the Metal Gear series, the cyborg ninja known as Gray Fox goes out in a blaze of glory, diving into Solid Snake's final battle with Metal Gear Rex, which is being controlled by the villainous Liquid Snake.

Fox has been a rival to Solid Snake throughout the game but decides to help him out at the end. Sadly, he comes out on the losing side of his clash with Metal Gear Rex and gets pinned against the wall by the bipedal tank, as well as having his arm sliced off. With Fox pinned against the wall, Liquid Snake taunts him by saying "In the Middle East, we don't hunt foxes, we hunt jackals."

Fox then replies with one of the most satisfying one-liners in Metal Gear history, crying out "A cornered fox is more dangerous than a jackal!" as he lifts his other arm and fires a destructive blast at Rex's radome, given Snake the chance he needs to finish the fight.

Fox dies brutally, as Liquid uses Rex to stomp him to death, but the cyborg ninja accepts his fate, shouting to Snake that he'd always fought for what he believed in.
