10 Most Exciting Open World Video Games Coming In 2018
7. Sea Of Thieves
After a few unimpressive demos showcased at multiple gaming events over the years, Sea of Thieves' appeal finally clicked when its latest gameplay trailer was unveiled a few months back.
While the idea of exploring the seven seas with your friends was always tantalising, until the latest preview dropped it was unclear what the goal of Sea of Thieves actually was. But now the game's mission is clear: Capture as much loot as humanly possible.
Being able to sail to new lands in search of pirate treasure, the game's open world is fully explorable with a team of other players, each with their own distinct responsibilities that will assist in making each mission a success.
More than just being about exploration though, players will be tasked with solving mysteries on uncharted islands, battling against reanimated skeletons and waging war on the waves against competing pirate ships, and so far it all looks amazing.
A few years ago Sea of Thieves looked like the biggest joke on the Xbox One, but now it's shaping up to be one of the console's most interesting exclusives.
