10 Most Frustrating Video Game Moments Of All Time

2. Water Temple - The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time

Even if, for whatever reason, you haven't played Ocarina of Time, you've probably heard horror stories about the game's Water Temple. Like a lot of games at the time, controlling a character while they're swimming underwater was about as elegant as an elephant doing ballet, so an entire level making this essential was a huge red flag.

That's annoying enough, but not bad enough by itself to get it a spot on this list (MGS 2's underwater sections would have appeared as well). Instead it's all the additional hoops you have to jump through to complete the stage, that elevates it to god-tier s**t-housery.

For one, the level of the water is changed by levers in various rooms, but you have to go back and forth between them to understand what it's supposed to be set to in the first place. The game doesn't tell you which lever is connected to what, and that's on top of the aforementioned controls being a nightmare in the first place.

Throw on top of this a pair of boots used to sink that need to be equipped manually through a menu every.single.time, and the entire thing devolves into one annoyance after another.

There's a reason Nintendo overhauled this section in the 3DS remake of Ocarina.
