10 Most Hotly Anticipated Video Game Sequels

8. Bioshock Infinite

Publisher: 2K Games Developer: Irrational Games Platform: Xbox 360/PS3/PC Release Date: 26th February 2013 Is this the best looking game of the current generation? It's certainly got to be up there among the best, that's for certain. Feast your eyes on this... http://youtu.be/attvYJb6xn8 It still looks astonishing. And it should really, having been in development for what feels like an age thanks to the appearance of development behind-the-scenes videos and gameplay trailers as early as a year ago, but the delay can only be a good thing, if as expected Irrational Games are using the time to add multiplayer. Bioshock has always been a pure expression of imagination, meshing good story-telling with rewarding and creative gameplay over a background of complex, rich steampunk dreamscape environments. At this stage I'm hoping that the game is more like the second half of that gameplay demo above, rather than the first, which necessarily feels like you're being led as a passenger through environments you'd rather be able to spend some more time exploring. But when it all kicks off, it looks great, so let's hope it feels as good in our hands. Yes it is a major shame that Infinite has been pushed to the other side of New Year's Eve, but good things come to those who wait, and at least now we all have a late Valentine's Day present for the other half...
