Trust a British company to come up with an amazingly bizarre game concept and turn it into one of the biggest franchises in gaming history. If you've never heard of Worms before, you've been living under a rock for nearly twenty years. It's a strategic series which sees players controlling a team of Worms while trying to decimate their opponents teams. It's simplistic, it's silly and it's stupidly fun. While there are a variety of weapons, all with different uses, the Bazooka will nearly always be your go-to weapon. It's strong, it takes a bit of skill to aim and it creates decent sized craters where your opponent's Worm used to be. Mastering the Bazooka takes time but it's massively rewarding to do so; seeing it dip perfectly over a hill and nail a Worm in the face is a beautiful sight. Most importantly, unlike most weapons, it also has infinite ammo; vital for when items are scarce and enemy Worms are closing in. It might not make cool sound effects like the Holy Hand Grenade, it might not let you swing about like a Ninja, and it might not level environments but the Bazooka is an essential part of your Worms arsenal. In the right hands, it can dominate games and yet, even for beginners, it's probably the most useful weapon at carving apart hills and dishing out damage. Sometimes that's all it takes for a weapon to become iconic.
I have an addiction to achievements, a craving for new bands and a dream to become Captain America. I once finished second in a Mario Kart 7 tournament so I'm kind of a big deal.
