10 Most Intimidating Dark Souls Enemies
9. Black Hydra
Ash Lake is undoubtedly one of the most, if not the most, beautiful place in Dark Souls.
After making your way through the underground hell that is Blighttown (an area that tests the resolve of the most seasoned Dark Souls players), and down the Great Hollow (the inside of a giant tree trunk populated by deceptively innocent-looking enemies), you'll find yourself on an underground beach surrounded by a body of water.
Cue the monk-like droning and tolling bells, music that juxtaposes eerily with the monstrosity fervently making its way towards you off in the distance. Honestly, this might be worse than Blackpool beach. Wait, no, there are no kebab-hungry stag and hen do's itching to kick off in Dark Souls.
At this point, you can leg it across the beach, dodge giant crustacean abominations as you go, and end up finding the Everlasting Dragon, the leader of the Path of the Dragon covenant; or, you can do what all Dark Souls players do, and follow your sadomasochistic curiosity before doing something constructive.
If you do, you'll be bombarded with blasts of water, headbutts, and if you try moving to the other side of the beach, it'll launch itself into the air and attack you from there. Because screw you, that's why.
Day at the beach - ruined.
