Some gamers can't seem to get into point-and-click adventurers. Even if you see the appeal of Sam & Max or Monkey Island, you might be turned off by the idea of wading through text boxes and tirelessly navigating around every nook and cranny for clues.

However, AI: The Somnium Files - Nirvana Initiative will appeal to even the biggest naysayers. As soon as the sequel starts, your detective squad needs to investigate the murder of a CEO. Although half his body was found six years ago, the other half only turned up recently... and it looks like he was only recently killed. With a premise like that, you are immediately sucked into this beautiful, zany world.

But that's only the tip of the iceberg. The voice-acting is so good, you can tell every performer, no matter how minor their role, gave it their all. The witty dialogue and delivery of lines is laugh-out loud hilarious. Every time you have a spare moment, you can't help taking a look around to admire the anime art style. And because this is a murder mystery, there's a plenty of twists and turns ready to knock your socks off.

If you ever felt like visual novel gaming wasn't your cup of tea, Nirvana Initiative might be the one to break you into the genre.
