10 Most Overrated Video Games Of The Past Decade

2. Assassin's Creed: Black Flag

Black Flag is often hailed as the standard bearer of the AC series, but it's actually not a good video game at all.

Even if we excluded the genuinely terrible plot of the game - which includes massive plot holes, like the obviously female pirate that we were supposed to believe was a dude for several hours - the game itself was just not fun to play. The map was boring; predominantly made up of water, interspersed with uninteresting islands with little reason to stop on them.

The majority of Black Flag's gameplay consisted of sailing a boat, which is just not a fun thing to do. Add in bad voice acting, characters that conveniently show-up when the plot requires it, the single worst modern day elements in the series, about a dozen tailing missions - some of which are in a frickin' boat - most of which simply result in you killing someone and being chased anyway - and you have one heck of a bad game.

Critics and gamers alike were completely swayed by the fact that they got to play as pirates but, sorry folks, this is one instance where you were wrong. Avast the lies!
