10 Most Soulless Cash-Ins In Video Game History

10. Star Fox Adventures

Star Fox Adventures is quite the anomaly when it comes to franchise cash-ins, because the game itself €“ shockingly €“ isn't really bad. But there€™s still an air of unease that surrounds the title. Initially a completely new IP unrelated the Star Fox franchise named Dinosaur Planet, the game was retroactively transformed to resemble a more popular and bankable series while the game was already well into development. Because the original ideas for the title were sound, the game that released was actually a rather fun and exciting experience in and of itself, but the fact that it was rebranded so late in the day stinks of corporate interference to what could have been a unique and successful franchise in its own right Although this rebranding served to be a success, as StarFox Adventures launched out of the gate to become the fastest selling GameCube title at the time, and provided an incentive to pick up the console on release, it doesn't negate the fact that gamers were robbed of a fascinating new IP.
