10 Most Underrated Video Games Of 2017 (So Far)
2. Yooka Laylee
Yooka Laylee got a pretty bad wrap when it released earlier this year and it's quite difficult to understand why. It seemed like every review played a completely different game from each other and reviews hit the whole spectrum. Everyone disagreed with everyone, but the loudest voices seemed to proclaim the game as disappointing. Which simply isn't true.
Serving a pretty decent "collect 'em all", Yooka Laylee is a joy to play. Whilst controls and camera may have been wonky on release, they now work brilliantly. The game is a love letter to Banjo Kazooie and whilst it doesn't quite surpass its predecessor (Who honestly it expected that it would?), it's still a really enjoyable time.
The flack the game got on release, whilst understandable, wasn't completely justified. It's not perfect, but also isn't the monstrous abomination that some reviewers made it out to be.
