9. Plasma Pistol: Halo Series
Needless to say, the Halo franchise has seen a dizzying array of brilliantly absurd, highly futuristic weaponry. From the Needler to the dreaded Energy Sword and the monstrously popular DMR (the scourge of Halo 4 in particular), there are so many to choose from.
Among them all, the humble Plasma Pistol is surprisingly notable. It might be relatively generic fare in concept (Superheated Plasma aside), but it could serve as so much more than an emergency sidearm.
In the original Halo, it was a somewhat potent weapon, boasting damage that certainly wasn’t to be sniffed at and, crucially, great accuracy. It doesn’t tend to be used as a damage-dealer, but it continues to boast some very nice utility with its charged shots and their capacity to stun.
