At first glance, this game looks like a walking simulator of a small sunny town reminiscent of Silent Hill (without all of the monsters and psychological nonsense). But what you'll discover when you start EQ Studios' The Painscreek Killings is one of the most immersive detective adventures you've ever seen in gaming.

Set in the fictional American town of Painscreek, you're tasked with investigating the cold-case murder of the mayor's wife. The residents have since left Painscreek and the land is going up for auction soon, so it's up to you to solve the murder before the evidence of the crime disappears.

Remove all of hand-holding from other detective games, and toss in a quaint semi-open world for the player to explore completely on their own, and that's what you'll find in The Painscreek Killings.

The beginning of the game advises you to keep a notebook handy and your wits about you. Puzzles and locked areas are have no hints. You must rely on your own deductive skills to solve the mystery.

If you find enjoyment out of detective themed games, The Painscreek Killings will provide you with the perfect challenge to test your skills.
