The very fun of the Dark Souls series and FromSoftware games in general lies in figuring out how to topple a mighty enemy, whether through slick mastery of movements and combat or occasionally discovering a sneaky quirk to win the day.

The original Dark Souls' boss Iron Golem is far from the toughest enemies in the game, though you can trivialise the encounter completely through one simple action - summoning the phantom known as Black Iron Tarkus.

Though you can simply use Tarkus to distract the Iron Golem while you hack away at it yourself, you're better off just putting up your feet and letting Tarkus take on the towering brute himself, as he'll make short work of the Golem in around 90 seconds or so.
