10 Most Value For Money RPGs In Gaming
3. Persona 5 Royal
Though it’s true that many JRPGs struggle to cross the pond and find a foothold in the west, with a fair majority never even being published outside of Japan, the Persona series is a firm exception. A spin-off from fellow popular RPG series Shin Megami Tensei, each of the games has acquired a cult following and is of excellent quality, however Persona 5 Royal is the jewel in the series’ crown.
Originally released simply as Persona 5, the Royal expanded re-release clocks in at around a whopping 100+ hours to beat the entirety of the main story - and that’s excluding the vast array of side quests.
This game is long. Luckily, the story of a group of superpowered high school students banding together to fight Shadows and steal evil from the hearts of adults alongside doing comically ordinary activities such as laundry is compelling enough to engage players for the entire runtime.
The distinctive style of the game’s visuals, which emulates Japanese manga and comics, has allowed Persona 5 to stand out from the crowd and be recognised for the quality of its entire package, being often referred to as one of the greatest RPGs of all time.
There’s one thing for sure - you’re not going to find many games with as much awesome content for their price as this.
