Mario Kart Tour is the most casual game in the series since Mario Kart Wii, so we thought we'd bring back a character synonymous with that. The surfboarding shopkeeper Funky Kong dominated time trial leaderboards online. Unbalanced statistics aside, there would be a dedicated group of players willing to pay for the coolest Kong.
Funky has since become a meme within the Nintendo hardcore because of his inclusion in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, and we're sure if included in Mario Kart Tour it would continue here. Funky also has racing experience by being playable in Donkey Kong: Barrel Blast.
