10 Nintendo Switch Launch Games Ranked From Worst To Best
8. I Am Setsuna
With The Legend of Zelda launching alongside the Switch (you can probably guess where it’s going to appear in this list), releasing another RPG at the same time is a risk. I Am Setsuna isn’t the flashiest JRPG Square Enix has ever published and neither is it the most well received. In fact, on its release on PS4 last year, reviewers and consumers were divided over whether or not the game is any good.
Polygon was largely enthusiastic, stating: “It's not a new classic by any stretch, but I Am Setsuna demonstrates a great understanding and mastery of what made Square Enix's past successes work so well.” The site awarded the game a solid 85/100.
At the other end of the spectrum, GamesRadar wasn’t so keen: “I Am Setsuna aims to invoke the spirit of classic 16-Bit JRPGs like Chrono Trigger, but its obtuse combat and monotonous pacing keep it from reaching those lofty heights.” That fairly damning review saw the game receiving 2.5/5.
A passable RPG just won’t cut it when the competition is a new Zelda adventure.
