7. Most Multiplayer Is Unnecessary & Forced

Ever since Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 blew the lid off the multiplayer gaming formula, introducing RPG-like leveling elements to the FPS genre, things have never been the same. Not only has a fiendishly addictive online mode been customary on every single Call of Duty game since, but other developers, realising the staying power that a strong multiplayer component can give their games, have opted to devote development time to working on one. As a result, unexpected games like Uncharted and the latest Tomb Raider have adorned their titles with multiplayer, with the hope that you'll keep the game that little bit longer in order to plough through the online achievements and level up. Of course, sometimes this
is nothing more than a crass, commercial practice - Mass Effect 3's online was, to me, absolute garbage - but it also doesn't mean that every non-FPS online mode has been cynically thrown in out of desperation, to try and prevent you from trading in the game as soon as you complete it. Some - like Uncharted and Tomb Raider - are actually worth your time.
