Tears of the Kingdom is the first console Zelda game since Twilight Princess to feature Ganondorf Dragmire as the main antagonist, and good lord does the game succeed at reminding you why he's the Demon King.

Ganon, either in disguise as Zelda or through proxy agents, blights the lands of Hyrule with various, specially crafted horrors to either weaken or destroy them. The Rito get a never-ending blizzard, the Gerudo get an impenetrable endless sandstorm, the Zora get gunk falling from the sky which pollutes their water, and the Goron get... drugs. They get drugs, no other way to say it.

Taking a page out of late 20th century America's book, Ganon concludes that the best way to keep this minority population from becoming a challenge to his rule is to introduce a highly addictive drug into their community, which proceeds to rot that community from the inside out. His weapon of choice is Marbled Rock Roast, a stone that is so irresistible to the average Goron that they turn on each other like animals to get more.

It is CHILLING how realistic a plan this is on Ganon's part. Just like with America in the mid 1900s, all he had to do was introduce this substance into this minority community, then sit back as it tore them apart, ensuring that they wouldn't grow large enough to be a problem. And this is why he's the Demon King.
