10 Obscure Star Wars Characters Who Need To Be In LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga

8. Malakili

Malakili was the beast master employed by Jabba the Hutt, in the film Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi, who cared for Jabba’s pet Rancor, named Pateesa in the Disney Cannon. He is briefly seen after Luke Skywalker is successful in defeating and killing Pateesa, visibly distraught over the death of his friend and companion.

Malakili had served as a beast master for Jabba long before the events of Return of the Jedi, in the Disney Cannon, originally working for ‘Circus Horrificus’. He was made a slave and sold to Jabba after a beast in his care killed some of the guests of the circus. Malakili survived the events of Return of the Jedi, as he does not accompany Jabba on the Sail Barge. In Legends, he went on to found a restaurant in Mos Eisley, while in the Disney Cannon he went on to work for Cobb Vanth - who recently appeared in the second series of the Disney+ show The Mandalorian.

Malakili didn’t appear in LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy as, similarly to with Salacious B. Crumb, only Bib Fortuna accompanied Jabba in the various cutscenes. Malakili made his eventual debut in the ‘Jabba's Palace Character Pack’ DLC for LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Clearly the character hasn’t been forgotten, so here’s hoping that he will return for LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.
