10 Of Nintendo's Weirdest & Most Forgotten Gaming Experiments

9. Flingsmash

When Nintendo released the MotionPlus controller line for the Wii, people went nuts for Wii Sports Resort and the surprisingly well-done Swordplay minigames.

Flingsmash, one of the other games released alongside the new controller, sunk under the radar- and those who did pick it up were left more confused than anything else.

To put it simply, Flingsmash was a side-scroller pinball pachinko paddle ball simulator. The heroes are two small little ball people named Zip and Pip, who set to save their home Suthon Island from the evil Omminus. Players aid the two little plucky protagonists by... smacking them around the map into rocks, bricks, and collectible pearls.

One part auto-scroller, one part Kirby, one part pinball, and one part just weird, Flingsmash didn't exactly set the world alight when it launched. Apart from being one of the weirdest ideas for a game ever, its a tiring slog that gets your arm sore quick. Reviews panned the game, suggesting it's not even worth the additional $10 to get the game bundled with the controller- and that you should just get the controller without it.

Ouch.
