8. Cheating
Granted, this has been largely stamped out in online FPS games these days, due to the extensive authentication measures required to play a game, meaning that if you
do cheat, your entire PSN/XBL/Steam account can be suspended and/or banned. Still, some do manage to slip through the cracks, as I've occasionally noticed when playing Call of Duty or Halo, where a player manages to magically lock on instantly to any enemy he finds, and he usually finds them
far too quickly. More clever cheats will be subtle about the way they can see through walls and instantly hunt you down, pretending to take a little extra time to find you to cover their tracks, sometimes making it extremely difficult to work out who is a cheat and who is simply awesome. As a result, I always view high-scoring players who have clean sheets with a healthy air of skepticism.
