Although Skyrim has been around for more than a decade now, prolonging its existence with countless remasters and platform ports, there are still some things only a fraction of its playerbase have seen and experienced. One of them is the Ebony Warrior, the game's true challenge for only the most dedicated Dragonborn.

The Ebony Warrior is the hardest enemy in the game and appears only after the player reaches level 80. He personally seeks out the Dragonborn to issue a challenge, stating that no other person has ever bested him and that perhaps the legendary warriors of Skyrim could be the ones to finally send his soul to Sovengarde.

His claim of never getting bested is no joke, as the warrior's gear and abilities are the deadliest combination you'll ever see in the game. His armor provides him with 50% resistance to every type of damage in the game, his perks allow him to deal maximum damage, and as if that wasn't enough, he can also reflect some of the Dragonborn's attacks back at them.

The duel with the Ebony Warrior is truly the greatest challenge in Skyrim. Considering his skill, it's surprising he didn't beat you to killing Alduin.
