10 OTT Gaming Moments Too Gross To Handle

8. God Of War: Ascension - Castor And Pollux

The God of War franchise has built itself a reputation for gory kills and there are certainly a lot to consider.

Kratos hacks and slashes, slices and dices, gouges and just makes a massive mess. Guts are spilled, organs exposed and appendages removed, with no mythical character or beast is safe from the grumpiest Spartan.

Seeing him slowly rip off the sun god Helios' head while he's still alive in God of War 3 is an unforgettable sight and a serious contender. However, it's the often overlooked and forgotten prequel, God of War: Ascension, where the violence was cranked up to eleven.

Just about everyone acts like an exploding bag of ketchup, and while the boss battle with Castor and Pollux doesn't have as much of the usual gore and viscera, it's still pretty shocking.

Portrayed as conjoined twins, Kratos splits them in two, leaving Castor to fall to his death. Pollux wishes he was that lucky - left with only one arm and no legs to desperately crawl away, whilst begging for mercy, Kratos introduces him to his foot with a crunchy stomp.

They may be awful bad guys, but it's still an horrific act that scars the mind.
