10 Overpowered Video Game Weapons That Made You Rage Quit

7. Proximity Mines - GoldenEye 007

Guns? In a shooter? Nonsense, all you need are mines. Mines, mines and more mines.

See, bullets, the efficient life-taking objects they are, are only so if the wielder has a keen eye and the uncanny ability to properly use the Nintendo 64's Worst Controller of all Time. With those two skills, you'll have won your fair share of matches in GoldenEye 007's split-screen multiplayer, but that requires learning. Not necessary when you can grab a stack of Proximity Mines and become the world's most obnoxious camper, immune to conventional weaponry and the cause of your three friends' walking out after the match.

You can, of course, opt to continue playing, but it'll be Minesweeper - not GoldenEye - from here on out. Methodically comb every corridor and room for the motion-triggered devil bombs and you may just reach the explosives expert hiding in the corner, but don't believe you're in with a chance at killing them. They can just chuck a mine in your face and it'll go off. Just like the console will as pixelated blood spills down your death screen.
