10 Overpowered Weapons That BROKE RPGs
6. Aerondight - The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
Any article centred around overpowered RPG weapons isn't complete without a section talking about how absurd The Witcher 3's Aerondight still is.
A legendary weapon that has appeared in all three entries in the series, players can obtain Aerondight through the Blood and Wine DLC after completing the There Can Only Be One mission.
The weapon stands out not only in the series but also in role-playing games in general due to the fact it actually improves the more a player uses it; rather than wearing down or running out of charge, Aerondight will gain charges with each successful hit and increase the sword's damage by 10%. It only takes ten charges for the sword to reach its full charge, after which it will begin to glow to let players know it's ready to be let loose.
When Aerondight hits a 100% charge, it will always deliver a critical blow to an enemy, and killing an enemy whilst it's fully charged will permanently increase the weapon's damage. Given how the weapon is the only one of its kind that levels with a player, Aerondight remains an absolute go-to for those looking to rampage around feeling like a true Monster Slayer.
