10 Overpriced Video Game BS You Should AVOID

7. Total War: Warhammer 3's Latest DLC Costs As Much As A Full Expansion

Total War: Warhammer III most recent piece of paid DLC, Shadows of Change, faced immediate backlash as soon as Sega announced that it would cost a sizable $25 - the price typically charged for substantial full expansions like Forge of the Chaos Dwarfs.

Given that Shadows of Change wasn't a full expansion but rather a Lord Pack featuring three new legendary lords, the price set by Sega was far above what players were used to paying, resulting in the DLC's Steam page getting reviewed-bombed into oblivion.

Creative Assembly's Chief Product Officer, Rob Bartholomew, responded by matter-of-factly explaining that the price hike reflected rising development costs, yet wasn't met with much sympathy by fans, many of whom felt he was effectively holding the game's ongoing development hostage.

As such, large swaths of players decided to boycott the DLC altogether - or in the very least, wait for it to go on sale.
