10 Perfect Gaming Remakes That Easily Beat The Originals

6. Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time

Games, like films, are designed foremost as a means of escapism; a way to explore ideas and stories that simply aren't possible in everyday reality. That's why the adventure genre is so popular across both formats and in gaming; any adventure title owes a whole lot to the Prince of Persia series. Released for just about every retro console you could name (originally on the Amiga and the Apple II though), Prince of Persia has become a major influence on gaming with a combination of difficult platforming and intelligent puzzles; it's not hard to see how it paved the way for games like Tomb Raider. Prince Of Persia also received a modern day reboot though with The Sands Of Time and once again, it proved to be a smash hit. The transition from 2D to 3D had been done before in the series (with the far lesser known Prince Of Persia 3D) but The Sands Of Time was far more successful, thanks to some ingenious level design and a thoroughly unique time reversal gameplay mechanic, allowing for clever environment based puzzles. The game also received a lot of credit for its acrobatic combat, thanks to the Prince being as agile as he is intelligent; literally the best of both worlds. The game was so successful that it received a dreaded movie adaptation (featuring Mr. Donnie Darko himself, Jake Gyllenhaal), although the film proved to be a box office success. Is there anything this Prince can't do well?

I have an addiction to achievements, a craving for new bands and a dream to become Captain America. I once finished second in a Mario Kart 7 tournament so I'm kind of a big deal.
