10 Perfect Gaming Remakes That Easily Beat The Originals
7. Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary
As mentioned earlier with The Secret Of Monkey Island, a remade version of a game doesn't have to completely throw the old one out the window. Being able to switch between the two versions is a sure-fire crowd pleaser and Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary (quite the mouthful) hits the mark with a near seamless one button transition between the modern and classic looks of Master Chief's first adventure. That feature alone probably drew a lot of sales for the game (well, that and the title on the cover: Halo) but the game also ventures deeper into the Halo universe's lore with extra terminals (in-game computers which reveal details about the Halo universe, first introduced in Halo 3), adding juicy morsels of information for fans to devour. It may have kept some of the frustrating features from the Xbox original release (the level design in some parts is truly awful) but this is a great nostalgic release which allowed new Halo developers 343 Industries to revisit the past before planning for the future. We might see another of Master Chief's early adventures being reworked too; with rumours constantly flying around about a Halo 2 Anniversary remake for Xbox One (November 9th 2014 officially marks the ten year anniversary). Halo 2 may have perfected the first-person shooter gameplay of Microsoft's main franchise but Halo: Combat Evolved laid solid groundwork for the title why not revisit it now?
I have an addiction to achievements, a craving for new bands and a dream to become Captain America. I once finished second in a Mario Kart 7 tournament so I'm kind of a big deal.
